Inspiration

The lifebuoy is the foundation of our lifesaving equipment. At Fristad Plast AB, we have been producing lifebuoys since 1976. There are lifebuoys placed along our ports, lakes, coasts and streams all over Sweden. They are there to increase security.

Function

The lifebuoy increases safety in all waterside areas. It is the foundation of rescue equipment, developed and tested for a long time and used worldwide. The basic function is float help for the distressed. The lifebuoy is also the extended arm between the rescuer and the distressed. The design of the lifebuoy causes it to float with the water instead of drifting with the wind on the surface. The distressed person can then swim to the buoy by himself. Together with the throwing line, which is mounted on the lifebuoy, you get a long reach. The line floats and has a visible orange color. The structure of the rope makes it non-knot able. The lifebuoy is foam-filled, which makes it float even if it has been damaged. The lifebuoy has a unique outer layer, which makes it soft and durable. A well-maintained lifebuoy lasts for about 10 years. The lifebuoy holder holds the lifebuoy in place and makes it easily accessible to everyone. We recommend that the lifebuoy is placed at a height of 1.5 m to the top, so that children and persons with disabilities can reach it.
